Xbox app with remote play now live for iPhone and iPad users

20 October 2020 0

Microsoft has made its newest Xbox app available for iOS users via the App Store. This new application version comes with remote play support. It will simply allow Xbox console players to stream their favorite games on an iPhone and iPad. The app was under beta testing since last month but can now be downloaded by anyone.

The Xbox Remote Play feature is a completely different thing from Microsoft's cloud game streaming service. It requires users to have an Xbox console for streaming games. Another condition is that users can stream only those games that they have added to their Xbox library. In comparison, the cloud service streams game installed on remote servers and does not rely on the user owning an Xbox console.

This functionality is the same as Sony's Remote Play app meant for PlayStation 4 gamers. Microsoft's application works with Xbox One series consoles but not with older-generation consoles. It means if you are still rocking one of those Xbox 360 and original Xbox consoles, you will not be able to stream games from them to your iOS device.

The app is free to download for everyone. All you will need to do is to log-in using the same Xbox account that you have logged in on your console. You can install the app on your iOS device by using the link given below.
