Samsung Galaxy Store app redesigned with focus on gaming

02 November 2020 0

Samsung has announced a redesigned version of its Galaxy Store application. The new version comes with a completely new design with a focus on mobile gamers. The official press release mentions that the user experience is aimed at both casual and hardcore gamers. There will be special game recommendations as well as different perks.

The new Galaxy Store app has only two home screen tabs: Games and Apps. The game tab has a carousel showing Featured, Pre-register, and Top charts of games. Samsung is specifically promoting the availability of Fortnite on the Galaxy Store. The popular battle royale game from Epic Games has been removed from both Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. This is one aspect where Samsung has a clear advantage over two of its biggest rivals.

It is further touting the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate application available for Galaxy smartphones through the store. It is an app that allows users to stream their favorite Xbox games directly on their phones. There are over 100 games available for streaming and these can be played using a supported Bluetooth controller.

Samsung will offer reward points for downloading games through the Galaxy Store. As players will keep playing games and leveling up, they will continue to earn more rewards. These points can then be redeemed for various perks to further enhance the gaming experience.
