We know that the OnePlus Nord was not just a smartphone launch but the start of a whole new lineup. The launch was quickly followed by the release of Nord N10 5G and N100 budget models. It was always expected that there will be more models coming up but OnePlus seems to be moving faster as compared to its launch routine for flagships.
As per a new Android Central report citing industry sources, the next smartphone in the lineup is called the OnePlus Nord SE with an internal codename Ebba. It is said to be a budget smartphone but a few noteworthy features. The biggest highlight of the smartphone is Warp Charge 65 support which is the fastest charging tech commercially available for smartphones. The battery capacity is tipped to be 4,500mAh which should get charged fully within 40 minutes.
The Nord SE will sport an AMOLED display panel as we have seen with most of the OnePlus phones. The report does not mention anything about the refresh rate but since it is a budget offering, it could be a 60Hz panel as well. Other hardware details are currently unknown but the leak does talk about a possible release timeline and availability plans.
OnePlus is said to be eying a Q1 2021 release for the Nord SE and "shortly" after the OnePlus 9 flagship launch. The phone will be sold in India and select European markets. As far as the U.S. availability is concerned, it is unlikely to happen for this new model.
