Google's Task Mate app lets users earn money for completing simple tasks

23 November 2020 0

Google has started beta testing a new app called Task Mate in India. The app lets its users earn real cash in exchange for completing simple tasks. This is similar to the Google Opinion Rewards application but instead of rewarding users with Play Store credits, it rewards them with actual cash that can be withdrawn to one's bank account.

The app description describes Task Mate as, "Earn money doing simple tasks on your smartphone". There are two categories of tasks: Sitting and Field Tasks. It seems like the first category will feature tasks that can be done from the comfort of one's home but as for the second category, users will have to go outside. The good thing is that these outdoor tasks will be related to nearby locations so that users do not have to travel a lot.

Google says that these tasks will be provided by businesses from around the world. However, users will see only those tasks that are closer to their current location. Some of the examples of tasks are: clicking photos of a nearby restaurant, filling out a survey, and translating sentences from English to other languages.

The app will show the amount of money that a user can earn for completing a particular task. The rewards will get accumulated and stored in his Google account that will be used for logging into the app. As and when you want to transfer the amount to your bank account, all you will need to do is to link your e-Wallet account.

The user will be able to check various details about his account through the app as well. These include pending payments, approved payments, total money earned, user level, accuracy level, number of tasks done, number of tasks under review, and number of tasks correctly done. Google says it will be using data from all the tasks to improve its business listings, mapping service, and to bring local businesses online.

Task Mate is currently in the beta stage and only limited to Indian users. Even in India, the app currently works through the invite-only method. It means even if you have the app installed, you will be able to use it only if an existing user has invited you. We can expect Google to make the app available in other regions as well.
