Xiaomi looks to be prepping to launch a new fast-charger soon in the market. This is apparent from a listing found on CCC (also known as 3C). As spotted first by the prolific tipster Digital Chat Station, this is a 55W fast charger with a model number MDY-12-EQ and it will support the fast-charging rate with 11V at 5A.

It is believed that the new 55W charger in the development could be used by Redmi, a sub-brand owned by Xiaomi. Note that the highest Watt charger that Redmi has used is 33W and in Redmi K30 Ultra. It is suspected that the Chinese company will now take the leap and debut it with a new Redmi series. Currently, it is unknown what new Redmi phone will make use of it but just a wait a bit more to find out the same.
Xiaomi already has a Mi 55W wireless charging stand that it launched back in August this year on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
In related news, Redmi is gearing up to add new phones to its existing Redmi Note 9 series. The new phones will support 5G and are scheduled to launch on November 26. The new phones feature quad rear cameras, housed inside a circular module, just like the one you would see in the OnePlus 7T but in a different fashion. The Pro variant of it is expected to hold a 108MP primary sensor. The new series will support 22.5W fast-charging.
Let’s wait to get more insights into the newly spotted 55W fast-charger.
