UPDATE (December 4th, 2020):
YouTube's "My 2020 Year in Review" playlist has now started to appear more widely. It is accessible as part of a new "Songs of the Year" carousel added to Android and iOS applications. You will need to scroll down a bit to see the carousel and then playlist. It features top songs that you listened to this year. There is support for downloading the whole playlist for offline playback. It has been released just a day after Spotify Wrapped 2020 was made available for everyone.
Other playlists included in the carousel are Top Country 2020, Top Pop 2020, Top Hip Hop 2020, Top Metal 2020, Top R&B 2020, Top Indie 2020, Top Alternative 2020, and Top Jazz 2020. These playlists include top songs played this year for the respective genre.
Original (November 25th, 2020)
As we are set to enter the last month of 2020, it is time when Spotify and Apple Music users will be receiving their annual review music playlists. These playlists are yet to arrive but we do have a new player that has already started pushing out the playlist for its users. We are talking about YouTube Music which is doing so for the first time since its debut.
YouTube Music's Year in Review playlist has started to appear for a few users at random. It was originally reported about a couple of weeks ago but has now been corroborated by Android Central folks. The playlist has appeared for one of the folks and as one would expect, it is a playlist featuring your most played songs of the year.
These playlists usually have top 100 songs but in this case, there are 86 songs for some reason. It is unknown whether this will be the case for everyone or the number of songs will vary from user to user. The playlist has a "Shuffle" button for playing songs randomly and a download option for offline playback.
The playlist cannot be customized as per the user's preference. It means you will not be able to remove or re-order songs as per your convenience. However, the report does mention that it appears to be a work-in-progress playlist and will likely get updated on regular basis until the end of the year. If this is correct, this is certainly a good feature as we still have a month to go in 2020.
As mentioned in the beginning, the Year in Review playlist is appearing only for random YouTube Music users. If you are not seeing it in the app, the only thing you can do is wait for it to become available. As of now, there is no way of accessing it manually unless it appears in the app once.
