When OnePlus unveiled OxygenOS 11 for supported devices, Always-On Display (AOD) was one of the highlights of the major changes included in the new build. The feature was made available instantly for OnePlus 8T users but those who got the device through T-Mobile were left hanging. The good news is that their wait is finally over.
T-Mobile has released a new software update for OnePlus 8T users that brings Always-On Display functionality. The update bears the version number OxygenOS 11.0.4.06. and weighs 320MB. There is no official explanation on why the feature was not made available during the initial rollout of the update but whatever that may be, it is good to see that AOD is here.
The Always-On Display feature on OnePlus 8T can be enabled by visiting Ambient Display settings. You will see a new Always-on ambient display option that needs to be enabled. For the uninitiated, OnePlus has added various cool animations to the AOD functionality that makes it even more useful than the traditional approach.
Most recently, OnePlus 8T users received an update that optimizes the camera's white balance performance. There are also a number of other optimizations related to the device's performance in different aspects.
