Samsung "SmartTag" has crossed one more certification. As spotted by 91Mobiles first, the product has passed through NCC certification and the listing has revealed the full-fledged look of the Galaxy SmartTag. As evident in the images, the SmartTag comes in a square rounded shape and is black in color. There is a hole at one of the corners to attach a string or key holder. The tech publication speculates that the device could just be a prototype as not all images have ‘Galaxy SmartTag’ etched within the circular ring.
Also, as exclusively reported by the tech publication last year in December, the tiny tracker could come in white and black colors and it may be priced at EUR 15 (~$20). It is expected to go official at the Unpacked event where Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S21 series.

Samsung is working on a Tile-like Bluetooth tracker as apparent from a listing found on the Indonesian certification site. The name of the device is ‘Galaxy Smart Tag’ and it has model number EI-T5300. Nothing else is glanceable from the listing but we can definitely deem a few things by referring to what already exists.
A Tile-like tracker would apparently help you find your lost belongings and this is what we expect from the one coming from Samsung’s hub as well.
Note that Samsung recently introduced the SmartThings Find feature to let you quickly find your misplaced Galaxy devices. We believe the upcoming ‘Galaxy Smart Tag’ gadget will have the same capability as well, but it may also let you find your other belongings.
As SamMobile points out, Samsung isn’t stepping into this business for the first time. It had launched an LTE-enabled tracker under the SmartThings branding two years ago as well.
It is suspected Samsung’s newly discovered Galaxy Smart Tag will bear connectivity features such as UWB (Ultra-Wideband), Bluetooth, LTE, and GPS. We believe Samsung may launch the object tracker during the Galaxy S21 launch that is slated to happen in January. Also, it is very likely that Samsung will announce it separately sometime in the near future.
In related news, Apple is also rumored to be launching a Bluetooth tracker to help you find or misplaced/lost items. We have heard many stories developing around this subject but Apple hasn’t made it official yet. The purported AirTags has received some unprecedented delays and it is still unknown when exactly Apple will launch it.
