Oppo has officially unveiled the Reno5 series of smartphones in China. There are two models in the lineup that are named Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G. A third model named Reno5 Pro+ 5G has also been teased but it will launch officially on December 24th. All three phones are 5G compatible but differ in terms of the processor powering them.
The Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is currently the most expensive phone in the lineup as the Pro Plus variant is yet to go official. It sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It is a punch-hole panel that boasts a 92.1% screen-to-body ratio, 402ppi pixel density, and a peak brightness of 1100 nits.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor clocked at 2.4GHz. There is ARM G77 MC9 GPU for handling all graphics-intensive processes. The phone has two configuration variants: 8GB of RAM with 128GB onboard storage and 12GB of RAM with 256GB onboard storage. None of these two offers microSD card expansion support.
The quad-camera setup on the back has a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture and is housed within the punch-hole
There is a 4,350mAh battery to keep the lights on and it is supported by 65W fast charging. It means you should expect an insanely fast charging speed whenever you find yourself looking at the low battery alert. On the software front, it will boot ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 out of the box. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and in-display fingerprint scanner.

- 8GB/128GB for CNY 3,399 (about $520)
- 12GB/256GB for CNY 3,799 (about $581)
The Oppo Reno5 5G is identical to the Pro variant except for a few differences. The biggest difference is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with Adreno 620 GPU.
