Sony has begun the Android 11 update rollout for Xperia 1 II users. The release has happened right as per the schedule released by the Japanese OEM earlier this year. It is an over the air update that should become available for all users automatically. Although, the exact time is likely to vary for users around the world.
The update has version number 58.1.A.0.921 which you will be able to check once it becomes available. It brings all the major Android 11 features that make it different and better than previous Android versions. It also features November 2020 security patch which is a good thing. The update size is 933MB which makes it a huge one and as a result, we would recommend you connect to a WiFi connection before tapping that download button.
This is the first major upgrade for Xperia 1 II, a smartphone that is promised to receive at least three major OS upgrades. It means we will be seeing the phone getting upgraded to at least Android 13 in 2022.
