Samsung has started updating Galaxy S20 FE to the latest Android 11 version. The update is in the form of One UI 3.0, the latest iteration of Samsung's custom Android skin for phones and tablets. The good news is the upgrade for this particular was supposed to arrive in February 2021 but has arrived much earlier.
It is an over the air update which means you should receive an alert automatically. It bears build number G780FXXU1BTL1 and G781BXXU1BTL4 meant for the LTE and 5G variants respectively. Unfortunately, there is no information about the update size yet so if it happens to be on the bigger side, we would suggest you connect to a WIFi network.
If you want to check for the update manually, you can visit the system settings and then go for the Software Update option. If you do not see the notification instantly, you might have to try it a bunch of times. Nevertheless, the update should become available for you sooner or later.
The latest roll-out means Samsung now has one less smartphone to support. The team easily has about 40 phones with different hardware configurations to support. It is hoping to update all eligible phones to the latest Android version by the end of September 2021.
