The Vivo Y20 (2021) is the newest budget mid-range smartphone released by the Chinese smartphone maker. It is a slightly different version than the Vivo Y20 released about four months ago. In fact, there is only one major difference in the specifications of the two smartphones which is the processor. This is the second such release within a week as Vivo V20 (2021) was launched just a few days ago.
The newly released Vivo Y20 (2021) comes powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 processor. The original version was announced with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset. The performance of both these phones should be more or less similar. It has been priced at RM 599 (about $148) with an option to choose from Nebula Blue and Dawn White color variants.
As for other specifications, the phone sports a 6.51-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a dewdrop notch. The smartphone offers a single configuration of 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. There is also support for microSD cards to help users get more storage space.
A triple camera setup is available on the backside. It features a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture accompanied by two 2-megapixel sensors with f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The stock camera app comes with various modes including panorama and slow-motion videos.
The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging. The exact Android version is unknown but it will run Vivo's custom Funtouch OS based on Android 10 out of the box. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a dual-SIM slot.
