Google's Smart Selection on Android is a handy and feature-rich tool that lets users perform various Google search tasks without manually opening the app. It has now received another new handy feature that will make the unit conversion a lot more convenient and fast for Android users.
A user simply needs to select the text about the unit and Smart Selection will show the "Convert" option. Tapping on it will take user to Google app and automatically input the selected text. It will also show output in one of the pre-selected units that may or may not be your preferred unit.
The conversion feature works for almost all major commonly used units like temperature, weight, recipe units, currency, mass, and volume. The best part is that it works everywhere on the Android device like reading articles on the web or self-typed notes and messages.
It should be noted that Android's Smart Selection feature loads unit conversion page within the Google app. It means if you are reading an article within the Google app and choose to convert a unit, you cannot go back to the article. The app will take you to the app's home page.
