Honor was widely rumored to announce the new V-series smartphone in early January but as things have turned out, the event is now tipped to have been pushed back to January 18th. There are still about a couple of weeks to go for the date but thanks to a new leak coming from China, Honor V40 aka View 40's detailed specifications have been revealed.
The alleged Honor V40 is said to sport a 6.72-inch Full HD+ (2676 x 1232 pixels) OLED display. The panel is expected to offer up to 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate at 300Hz. It will be a 5G smartphone like the predecessor Honor V30 but will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor.
It is reported to offer a single 8GB LPDDR4X RAM option but with 128GB and 256GB UFS 2.1 storage variants. There is also said to be microSD card support on both the models. The quad rear camera setup will be headlined by either a 50-megapixel primary sensor or a 64-megapixel shooter. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor will complete the setup. The front panel will offer dual selfie cameras: a 32-megapixel sensor with a 16-megapixel sensor.
There will be a 4,000mAh battery to keep the lights on. It will be supported by 66W fast charging and 45W wireless fast charging so that users can spend less time charging and more time working. The leak does not talk about the pricing details or when it will become available for purchase.
