Realme has announced a new 5G mid-range smartphone named Realme V15 5G in China. It is the company's first phone launch for 2021. The phone has a look that we have been seeing quite commonly in the past few months. It features a vertically-aligned multiple-camera module in the top left corner. It has been released in a bunch of colorful variants with gradient finish.
The Realme V15 5G sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED punch-hole display. It boasts a 90.8% screen-to-body ratio with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 600 nits. The bezels are really slim and the panel features an in-display fingerprint scanner resulting in a clean-looking back panel.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor with support for 5G connectivity. Realme has offered the phone in two configuration options: 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB of RAM with 128GB storage. The phone makes use of the UFS 2.1 storage standard that should result in reasonably faster read and write speeds.
The triple rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel wide-angle sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor (4cm). It further has a 16-megapixel selfie camera housed within the punch-hole. The battery capacity on the phone is 4,310mAh which can be charged very quickly thanks to the 50W fast charging support. It ships with Realme UI based on Android 10 but an upgrade to Android 11 has been assured. And yes, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack available on the phone.
The Realme V15 5G will cost you CNY 1,399 (about $217) for the 6GB/128GB model and CNY 1,999 (about $309) for the 8GB/128GB model. It is available in Lake Blue, Crescent Silver, and Koi Mirror color options. The Koi variant also has big and bold "Dare to Leap" branding on the back panel. It is already available for pre-order with sales set to begin January 14th in China.
