At the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, Samsung has taken wraps off the Galaxy S21 lineup of flagship phones. There are three models named Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21 Plus 5G, and Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. These are direct successors to the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra respectively from the last year. The biggest highlight of the series is that the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with S Pen, the stylus that has remained exclusive to the Galaxy Note series so far.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the high-end variant that offers the best Samsung has to offer. It sports a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O curved display. It sports a 120Hz refresh rate that adapts to the content getting played on the screen. The panel features a centered punch-hole and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Under the hood, it has the Exynos 2100 processor which was released just a couple of days ago. It is a 5nm-based octa-core processor with 5G network compatibility. It is a direct competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which is also available with the Galaxy S21 series. However, the exact availability of the processor will vary from region to region.

The smartphone comes with 12GB and 16GB of RAM paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of onboard storage. The highest RAM option is available only with 512GB storage but for 12GB RAM, you can get it with either 128GB or 256GB.

There is a quad-camera setup on the back headlined by a 108-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture. It further has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture (3X optical zoom), and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/4.9 aperture (10X optical zoom). The camera setup is capable of delivering up to 100X Space Zoom which is basically digital zoom after 10X. The phone has a 40-megapixel wide-angle selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. There is also support for 8K video recording and 12-bit RAW file format for advanced users.

As mentioned in the beginning, Samsung has added S Pen support to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is the same stylus that is available with the latest Galaxy Note 20 devices and Galaxy Tab models. It means if you already have one of these devices, you will be able to use the same S Pen with the new Galaxy S flagship. For those who do not have the S Pen, they will need to purchase it separately.

The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. It supports 25W Super Fast Charging, 15W Fast Wireless Charging, and Wireless PowerShare technologies. It will boot Android 11 out of the box. Other noteworthy features include IP68 dust and water resistance rating, AKG stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and WiFi 6E.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G starts at $1,199.99 and will be sold in only two colors: Phantom Black and Phantom Silver.

You will get a 6.7-inch and 6.2-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O flat display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. These feature Exynos 2100 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. The storage options include 128GB and 256GB.

Both flagships offer triple rear cameras: 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
