Poco F2 confirmed to not debut with Snapdragon 732G processor

18 January 2021 0

POCO fans in India have been waiting for the Poco F2 launch ever since the Poco F1 proved to be a super hit. The phone was launched in 2018 and since then, the brand has become independent and has announced a bunch of new smartphones. It even released the Poco F2 Pro globally but did not bring it to the Indian market. It seems like the wait is finally getting closer to an end as the team has started teasing Poco F2 in India.

Anuj Sharma, Country Director for Poco India, shared a few details about the upcoming smartphone in a special conversation with well-known YouTuber and tipster Mukul Sharma (@StuffListings). The important announcement was that the Poco F2 will not launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor. It is the chipset that was widely rumored to feature on the phone but has now officially been denied.

He added that the processor belongs to the mid-range segment and can be seen in the Poco X3. The Poco F-series sits above the X-series and hence, the team will make use of a more powerful chipset. He did not specify exactly what processor but said that it will deliver performance at par with flagship chipsets. We all know that the Poco F1 debuted with Snapdragon 845 which was a flagship processor. It should not be surprising if Poco opts for a last-gen flagship silicone like the Snapdragon 865.

All other details about the smartphone are currently unknown. The only thing we know for sure is that the Poco F2 India launch will happen sometime this year. We will keep you posted as more details will emerge about the phone.
