Sony is getting ready to announce the Xperia 10 III in the coming weeks as claimed by a new leak. The tip is coming from Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks, a well-known tipster, who has even shared the first look of the phone and a few important specifications. This upcoming phone will be a successor to the Xperia 10 II and, as a result, will be a mid-range offering.
The first thing to note about the alleged Xperia 10 III is its outdated design. We are calling it so because while OEMs are releasing bezel-less phones with notches and punch-hole displays, Sony has stuck with bigger top and bottom bezels. The phone is said to be sporting a 6-inch flat display panel. The big bezel at the top houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera along with other sensors.
The back panel features a vertically-aligned triple camera setup the same as the predecessor. It is expected to have a 12-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor but the tipster could not confirm at his end. If this turns out to be correct, it will be quite similar to the older model.
Sony is continuing with its trend of offering a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated within the power button. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still present on the phone. It is turning out to be a not-so-impressive mid-range phone but we will have to wait until the official announcement to see if anything changes.
