Redmi to launch its first gaming phone with Dimensity 1200 SoC this year

Redmi that has long been known for making some budget offerings started venturing into some feature-rich yet reasonably priced smartphones. It has a well-built Note series via which it is winning the hearts of so many consumers. The company is, in fact, doing all efforts so to cater to the needs of every type of consumer by offering the smartphone in every budget.

Now, the Chinese company that has been working as a sub-brand of Xiaomi is all set to touch its new set milestone. Redmi’s General Manager in China, Lu Weibing has revealed on Weibo that the brand is prepping to launch its first gaming smartphone. The details of the same are unknown but the context behind the announcement indicates the device is going to be powered by the newly-launched MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor.

The tech publication AndroidAuthority managed to take the screenshot of the statement provided by the brand’s GM. The translated version shows Redmi has decided to become the first brand to launch a phone with Dimensity 1200 processor. Reiterating some of the official details, Redmi’s GM has all praise for the new chipset. This clearly indicates that the company is determined to launch the phone with Dimensity 1200 SoC and become the first in the race. He didn’t point out the cutting-edge or high-value features like 168Hz refresh rate but did make a mention of some technical details, including Cortex-A78 cores, 5G, and AI.

Together with this, his big post also mentions that the company will launch the Redmi K40 smartphone next month. He also revealed that the company will continue to focus on its flagship market and product series.
