UPDATE (February 10th, 2021):
Max Jambor aka @MaxJmb, a well-known tipster, has tweeted that both the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro will launch with a 4,500mAh battery. This is a battery capacity that is neither too big nor too small and should be good enough for at least a day's usage. The good news is that OnePlus is not ditching chargers and these will be provided with the retail box.

OnePlus is preparing to announce the next-gen OnePlus 9 flagship series in the coming months. It is widely rumored to arrive way earlier than usual and as a result, the rumor mill is buzzing with specifications and renders leaks. The latest leak is coming from Digital Chat Station, a well-known and reliable Weibo-based tipster, that details both models of the upcoming lineup.
The leak says the OnePlus 9 will sport a 6.5-inch Full HD+ flat display with a 120Hz flexible refresh rate. The latter will result in the phone adapting the refresh rate to the content playing on the panel. It is a technology that many OEMs are implementing to make devices battery efficient. On another hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro will arrive with a bigger 6.78-inch curved display featuring Quad HD+ flexible resolution.
Both smartphone displays will have a 3.8mm punch-hole in the upper left corner. It will be one of the smallest sizes for a punch-hole that should make it less obtrusive. The choice of processor will be Qualcomm's latest flagship Snapdragon 888. It is the silicone that has already debuted on a few 2021 Android flagships.
The thickness of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro is tipped to be 8mm and 8.5mm respectively. These are further said to be very lightweight as the weight will be less than 200 grams. This is quite impressive considering that the battery capacity will be around 4,500mAh. This is pretty much what has been detailed in the new leak.
