Apple has now released iOS 14.4, iPadOS 14.4, and watchOS 7 software updates for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. These new builds bring noteworthy fixes and changes that not only make the performance better but also more secure. It is the iPhone update that brings patches for vulnerabilities that could have been violated by hackers.
The iOS 14.4 update for iPhone and iPad is reported to have fixed three different security bugs. Each of these security threats could have been getting exploited actively by hackers. Two of the issues were found in Safari's web engine called WebKit and core Kernel. Apple has refrained from sharing vulnerability details but it is safe to say that these were some major security issues. This is the reason we would suggest you update your iPhone and/or iPad to the latest software version as soon as possible.
As for watchOS 7.3, it is the newest Apple Watch software update that primarily focused on delivering new features. The major changes include the Time to Walk feature, Unity watch face collection, and expansion of ECG support to more countries. The watch face collection is inspired by the Pan-African flag colors and has shapes that change throughout the day as the user moves. Apple says this will result in a watch face unique to the particular user.
The ECG app and irregular rhythm notifications support are now available in Japan, Mayotte, the Philippines, and Thailand Aileen Cheng. It can be used on Apple Watch Series 4 or later models. Lastly, the Time to Walk feature is available only for Apple Fitness+ subscribers. It is an audio-only experience where users can listen to inspiring stories while working out.
