It’s been in the reports that India will get its first Dimensity-powered phones in early 2021. While MediaTek has several partnered smartphone manufacturers, Realme caught all the attention as it was speaking highly of the Dimensity processor and even confirmed that it will launch Dimensity-powered in India pretty soon. But Oppo outdid Realme by launching the Reno 5 Pro phone first with a Dimensity 1000 Plus processor.
Now, Realme has started sending media invites, revealing that it will soon launch the X7 smartphones in the country. The invite confirms the Realme X7 will launch in India on February 4, 2021. Interestingly, Realme has done some real and special efforts in making its invite pretty cool and attractive.
The special media invite includes a real MediaTek 5G chip that has text MT6853V text engraved on it with designator “TN,” which clearly tells it is the Dimensity 800U processor. This confirms at least one of the two smartphones will be powered by the Dimensity 800U processor. And, referring to the tips and leaks we have heard till now, the Realme X7 is powered by Dimensity 800U processor and the X7 Pro has Dimensity 1000+ processor. Thus India will get its first Dimensity-powered phones on February 4.
The launch will be streamed on Realme’s official YouTube channel and social media accounts starting at 12:30 pm IST (7 am UTC).
Realme launched the X7 series in China first back in September 2020. It then started releasing several teasers, indicating the phones will make their way to India as well. However, it appears the company has made some changes not just aesthetically but internally as well for the Indian consumers. A few days back Realme CEO Madhav Sheth shared an image of the X7 phone on Twitter. The phone looks different from the Realme X7 phone that was launched in China. The image of the phone suggests that the Realme X7 is launching as a rebranded V15 5G in India.
And, if that is the case, expect to see these specifications – 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display, Dimensity 800U processor, 64MP triple camera setup, 16MP selfie shooter, 4,310mAh battery with 50W charging.
It is assumed Realme has made no changes to the Pro variant, though. The X7 Pro will bear the Dimensity 1000+ processor, a 6.55-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is going to have a 64MP quad-camera, and a 32MP selfie camera. It features an in-display fingerprint reader and has a 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging.
Prior to the official invites, a couple of leakers had tipped the long-awaited and much-rumored Realme X7 series that will come to India on February 4.
