Sony has finally made the Xperia Pro smartphone available for purchase in the United States. The phone was originally announced in May 2020 and after a long wait, it has gone on sale with exclusivity to the American lands. It is essentially an Xperia 1 II but comes with two major features that are aimed at content creators and professionals.
The Xperia Pro is a smartphone that offers HDMI input support. This will allow users to make use of the smartphone as an external monitor by connecting to a Sony Alpha camera. It is even capable of mirroring the camera's display so that professionals are able to see all the details on a bigger real estate.
The second major difference is that the phone comes with four 5G mmWave antennas. This will result in a high-speed 5G connectivity for instant uploading of the content. It can also be used for live streaming which is something many professionals engage in to connect with their online audience.
All other Sony Xperia Pro specifications and features are the same:
- 6.5-inch HDR OLED display with 4K resolution, Motion Blur reduction, 21:9 aspect ratio
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650
- 8GB RAM
- 256GB storage
- Android 10
- 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and Dual PDAF, 12MP wide sensor with f/1.7 aperture and Dual PDAF with OIS, 12MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and PDAF with OIS, 3D iToF depth sensor
- 8MP front camera
- Dual stereo front speakers, headphone jack, 360 Reality Audio, side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- 4,000mAH battery
