Xiaomi is a company popularly known for releasing value-for-money products but it has also released products with innovative technologies from time to time. The Mi MIX series is an example of the latter category and the company is now ready to bring it back after a small hiatus. It is also working on an Android tablet that will be made available soon.
The last phone to launch in the Mi MIX lineup was Mi MIX 3 that arrived in 2019. It has been over a year and we should expect Xiaomi to make up for that gap by releasing a really cool and innovative smartphone. The announcement was made by Lu Weibing, General Manager at Redmi, through a post on his official Weibo account. It will presumably be called Mi MIX 4.
A recent teaser from Xiaomi suggested that the next-gen Mi MIX phone will have a bezel-less display. This is not surprising considering that it was the original Mi MIX that was one of the first phones to feature almost negligible bezels. It was then adopted by a host of other smartphone brands only to become a commonly expected design choice.
Next up, Xiaomi has an Android tablet in its pipeline of products meant for the 2021 release. The company is not an alien to making tablets as its Mi Pad lineup proved to be quite popular years ago. While both these products are set to debut within this year, we do not have specific details related to features and specifications yet.
