Asus is working on the next-gen ROG Phone which will be the third iteration of the gaming smartphone. The currently available phone is called ROG Phone 3 but its successor is tipped to be called ROG Phone 5. The company is skipping the number "4" in the series as it is considered to be unlucky. The upcoming phone has now been spotted on the Geekbench website which reveals some of the crucial specifications.
The Geekbench listing mentions ROG Phone 5 with model number ASUS I005DA. The phone has managed a score of 1131 and 3729 in single-core and multi-core tests respectively. The listing shows that there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which was mentioned in previous leaks as well. The particular variant used for the test is shown to be featuring an insane 16GB of RAM. It is running Android 11 which is the latest Android version.
The ROG Phone 5 will be a smartphone focused on mobile gamers like the predecessors. The product design is also pretty much similar to the previous offerings. It is expected to sport a 6.78-inch display with HDR10 support and up to 144Hz refresh rate. There will be triple rear cameras headlined by a 64-megapixel sensor. We will surely get to see a few gaming-focused features that will enhance the user's gaming experience.
The battery capacity on the phone is expected to be 6,000mAh. Asus is tipped to provide a 65W fast charging speed that will reduce the waiting time significantly. This is pretty much what is known about the ROG Phone 5 at the moment but we should be hearing more in the coming weeks.
