Samsung is one of the OEMs with multiple flagship and premium series of smartphones. It launched the Galaxy S21 series last month and now, all eyes on the new foldables. It will announce new devices that will presumably be called Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. These will be successors to last year's Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip respectively.
As per a new SamMobile report, we now have a few more details about the upcoming foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to bear model number SM-F926. It will have the same design as the old generation i.e. vertically folding mechanism. It will have at least 256GB of onboard storage which should be more than enough for most. As for software experience, it will be running One UI 3.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.
The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is reported to have model number SM-F711. This relatively cheaper foldable device will have a horizontal folding mechanism. It will result in a clamshell folding design, the same as the Galaxy Z Flip. This particular model wil be available in two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. The software experience on the phone is the same i.e. One UI 3.5 based on Android 11.
Now coming to the release timeline, Samsung is tipped to announce Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the next five months. It means these should launch sometime around June or July 2021. We should be hearing more about these foldables by the time we get closer to the official launch.
