Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is reportedly gaining the Android 11 update. The firmware version is A426BXXU1BUB7 and it has been spotted in the Netherlands. Reportedly, the rollout has just begun and should expand to more countries soon. It is interesting to see the device that was running OneUI 2.5 up until now is gaining OneUI 3.1, a more refined implementation of Android 11 directly. Reportedly, the update also brings the March security patch.

Samsung began rolling out the One UI 3.0 update, which is based on Android 11 to its eligible phones not so long ago. Samsung is, in fact, ahead of its own roadmap it announced back in December 2020. Now, it has begun rolling out the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 to the Galaxy A71 5G smartphone as well.
The update arrives as version A716USQU2CUA7 for the Spring Galaxy A71 5G. You would see the notification of the OTA update on your phone as the rollout has already begun. In case, the notification hasn’t arrived, you can check for the update availability by following the following route manually - Settings app > Software update> Download and install.
The One UI 3.0 update brings many new features. Key highlights include easier media and device controls, improved accessibility features, smoother animations, chat bubbles, improved UI design, better color scheme and icons, improved stock apps, improved Dark Mode, better Digital Wellbeing, and so on.
The 4G variant of the Galaxy A71 is yet to receive the Android 11 update. According to the roadmap, the Galaxy A71 5G will get it in May this year. But, looking at the pace that Samsung is following, it is not hard to guess that the phone will also receive the Android 11 way before its schedule.
