Redmi India has already confirmed when the new Redmi Note 10 series is arriving in India. It’s been speaking highly of the series for quite some time now through teasers and posters. As the launch is coming nearer, we believe that the company must be doing some last touch-ups to make the devices ready for that big launch in the country. The stage is being set and, meanwhile, Redmi is increasing some engagement around the upcoming products, because why not! After all, the hype shouldn’t fade too early.
Redmi India has set up a poll on Twitter, asking users what would they like to see in Redmi Note 10? Options include “Best LCD+120Hz,” “AMOLED.” It looks pretty obvious that Redmi has used an LCD panel for its upcoming Note series and not the AMOLED (ostensibly with a 60Hz refresh rate). But looking at the poll results, it is pretty evident what users actually want. The participants have clearly weighed the benefits of OLED panels against the LCD screens with a high refresh rate.
Calling the LCD “Best” simply explains what Redmi has selected for its new Note series. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how this decision will pan out.
At the time of writing, over 10,000 votes have been registered and there are still 20 hours left for the poll to end. Also, we just realized that Redmi India has removed the tweet that included the poll. But you can take a look at the screenshot that MobileScout managed to grab.
The battle between the LCD panel with high refresh rates and AMOLED displays is here to stay. There have been enough debates on the selection of the two in the smartphone world and is not going to end anytime soon, at least, till we have LCD displays. Both the screen types have their own virtues over the other. While the OLED screens promise darker and deeper blacks, high-level of brightness, the LCD panels are chosen for being cheaper and not being prone to screen burn-in over time.
