Vivo's iQOO lineup of smartphones has become quite popular among buyers in China. It offers premium specifications and high performance with a focus on mobile gaming. While it usually includes phones slightly on the expensive side, it also has a separate iQOO Neo series which is easier on the pocket. It is now reported to preparing for the launch of a new smartphone in the series.
The rumored phone is said to be called iQOO Neo5. It will be a direct successor to last year's iQOO Neo3 which boasts a 144Hz refresh rate display and Snapdragon 865 processor. The company seems to have decided to skip the number "4" as it is considered to be unlucky in the culture. This is the reason it has simply jumped to the number "5" for naming the new smartphone.
The iQOO Neo5 is rumored to be a smartphone featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. It should deliver the level of performance users have started to expect from the Neo smartphones. The display panel on the phone is tipped to be supplied by Samsung Display. It will be a Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It means there will be accurate color reproduction and thus a better media consumption experience.
The whole package is powered by a 4,400mAh battery with support for 88W wired fast charging. It is further said to deliver 66W of wireless charging which is quite fast. The triple rear camera setup is tipped to include a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor. The front camera is expected to be a 16-megapixel sensor. Vivo is reported to price the iQOO Neo5 somewhere between CNY 2,998 and CNY 3,698 i.e. about $460 and $570.
