Blackview has launched the BV6600, a new rugged Android smartphone. The Honk Kong-based company specializes in making some strongly built smartphones and it believes that the daily drivers should work in any extensive environment. That’s why it focuses on two major factors – “cost-effective ruggedness” and big battery capacities. Following the company’s vision, the new BV6600 smartphone fulfills both aspects.
Taking toughness as a priority, Blackview hasn’t worked much upon the design or aesthetics of the phone. You will not find the trendiest cutouts or notches on the display. The BV6600 still features big bezels on the top and bottom of the display and has an overall pretty thick profile. This is because of the massive battery it accommodates. As Blackview puts it, slim smartphones are unable to house a big battery capacity, but usability and durability being its first focus, the company has to choose the other side of the tradeoff.
The all-new Blackview BV6600 features the 8580mAh massive battery and the company has some big claims to make about this elephantine-sized battery capacity. According to Blackview, the BV6600 can deliver 792 hours of network-off standby time and 430 hours with 4G/Wi-Fi. This massive battery capacity is enough to charge any other device, thanks to reverse charging. The battery supports 18W fast-charging as well.
The Blackview BV6600 has a metal frame fixed with screws and thickened rubber corners. This arrangement adds more protection to the phone. According to Blackview, the BV6600 is drop-proof up to 1.2m.
The Blackview BV6600 is IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810G certified, which makes it survive in rains, withstand stand and dust, adds shock, high-temperature, low-temperature, humidity, high-altitude resistance. While Blackview hasn’t explicitly mentioned the applications of the BV6600, it is fair to believe that the phone could be pretty useful for users working at construction sites where they undergo some severe changes. Also, it can be pretty helpful for people doing outdoor activities like mountaineering, hiking, and more. Blackview also touts that you can take the BV6600 phone underwater and enjoy capturing the moments.
