Google Pay and Samsung Pay are two of the popular mobile payment solutions that allow users to pay their bills and make payments for almost everything. These apps support traditional currencies but as per a new report, they will very soon start offering Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well.
The announcement has been made by BitPay, one of the world's biggest cryptocurrency payment service providers. Its BitPay Card is already compatible with Apple Pay, a payment solution for Apple devices. It has revealed that the team is working on bringing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies support to Google Pay and Samsung Pay. It is hoping to be able to do so by the end of this quarter i.e. March-end.
Once the support goes live, Google Pay and Samsung Pay users will be able to add their BitPay Card like they add traditional credit and debit cards for making payments. It will support a number of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, USDC, GUSD, PAX, and BUSD. It automatically converts cryptocurrency to the traditional currency which makes it even easier for users to make payments.
Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay said:
“We have thousands of BitPay Wallet app customers using the BitPay Card who are always looking for new places and ways to spend their crypto. Adding Apple Pay and soon Google and Samsung Pay makes it easy and convenient to use the BitPay Card in more places from day-to-day items to luxury purchases.”
