YouTube TV 4K streaming and offline viewing coming soon

18 February 2021 0

YouTube TV has become one of the preferred streaming services for many U.S. users as it also bundles live TV channels. It is now set to become even more useful with new features lined up for the future. YouTube TV will be receiving support for 4K streaming and offline viewing very soon. The announcement was made in a blog post that also detailed a few other YouTube features.

The exact details about the functionality and release timeline have not been revealed yet. YouTube has simply said that it will .“introduce a new add-on package with 4K streaming, offline viewing, and unlimited concurrent streams at home.” It seems like users will be able to download their favorite content for watching it offline. However, it is unknown whether download will work for all types of content or only for selected ones.

The unlimited concurrent streams is another functionality that would be appreciated by many users. YouTube TV currently supports only three concurrent streams which can be a limitation for houses with more than three members. This way, everyone will be able to watch their favorite shows at the same time.

The most important thing to note is that all these features will be available as an "add-on package" to YouTube TV subscribers. The announcement has not mentioned the pricing of the package yet. It will be an optional package that buyers will be able to purchase if they want to use all these features.
