OnePlus has renamed Fnatic mode to Pro Gaming mode after the Android 11 Beta 3 update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series. This is because the partnership between OnePlus and Fnatic, a professional esports organization has ended.
The Beta update was fed to the phones last week but the changelog does not reflect this change. A keen-eyed user, however, was able to spot the change. As reported by the Reddit user T1Az, the Fnatic mode is now renamed to the generic name “Pro Gaming mode.”
Later XDA Developers was able to verify it, thanks to the confirmation given by the company itself. OnePlus confirmed that the deal has indeed come to an end and the new name will be applied to all the phones where this feature was represented by the name Fnatic mode.
The publication received the following statement –
“OnePlus’ partnership with Fnatic has come to its natural and mutual conclusion. Users of OnePlus devices who have enjoyed our Fnatic mode will continue to receive the same features and capabilities, but under a new Pro Gaming Mode name. The naming update will transition across devices starting from the 6 series. Fnatic has been a supportive partner to OnePlus, and we look forward to the opportunity to collaborate again in the future.”
OnePlus collaborated with Fnatic on OnePlus 7 series back in 2019. The partnership resulted in the creation of the new gaming mode for the OnePlus phones, called the Fnatic mode. It debuted with the OnePlus 7 series but later on slid to older phones as well via updates.
