LG smartphones have different things which make them worth recommendation but software support is not one of them. The story remains unchanged this year as well. After a long wait, LG has finally released the Android 11 update schedule detailing which phones will get the new software experience and when.
The update rollout plan will begin in Q2 2021 featuring LG V50 ThinQ and LG G8X flagship smartphones. It will then upgrade the LG Velvet 4G and LG G8S during the third quarter of the year. The LG K42, LG K52, and LG Wing users will get a taste of the new Android 11 during the final quarter i.e. Q4 2021.
As you can see, LG's Android 11 update list is not exactly extensive by any means. The company has ignored most of the phones that it released during the last year. It has mostly focused on premium smartphones which is a piece of disappointing news for those who purchased budget or mid-range phones launched by the company.
One important thing to note here is that this particular list was spotted on the LG Germany website. It means while this list is true for German users, it is likely to be correct for other regions as well. There is a possibility that we might see slight changes here and there but it should remain the same for the most part.
