Apple has released the iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 beta 4 to the developers for testing purposes. The latest beta comes two weeks after Apple brought the third iOS and iPadOS update to the iPhone and iPad models.
It is currently unknown what new features the latest beta build brings in but the sleuths over at 9to5Mac were able to find an interesting tidbit from the iOS 14.5 beta 4 codes. According to their findings, Apple Music is adding new ‘City Charts’ daily playlists so that users can have access to playlists from over 100 cities around the world with the most played songs in each.
The tech blog specifically mentions that while the new change is reflected inside the iOS 14.5 codes, the feature is still not enabled on the front-end by Apple. It is expected that Apple will activate this feature on its Music app when it rolls out the stable iOS 14.5 to everyone. Currently, it is unknown what cities are going to be featured in ‘City Charts.’
Together with these updates, Apple has also rolled out the fourth betas of tvOS 14.5, Homepod 14.5, macOS 11.3, and watchOS 7.4 as well.
The latest iOS and iPadOS beta updates can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center or OTA. For the macOS 11.3 beta 4, the OTA can be found in System Preferences > Software Update if you’re enrolled in the developer or public beta program. To install the watchOS 7.4 beta, developers need to download the proper configuration profile from the Apple Developer Center. The tvOS update can be installed on Apple TV HD (4th generation) and Apple TV 4K (5th generation) through the Settings app
