The Realme 8 smartphone series has now been made official in India. There are two models named Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro, direct successors to the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro respectively. Realme has announced a bunch of noteworthy features like 5G connectivity and a 108-megapixel camera sensor but these are restricted to the Pro variant.
The Realme 8 Pro sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor with Adreno 618 GPU and 5th gen Qualcomm AI Engine. The phone is available with 6GB and 8GB of RAM options but a single 128GB UFS 2.1 onboard storage.
The quad-camera setup includes a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary sensor with f/1.88 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). The other three cameras include an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on the phone is a 16-megapixel sensor housed within the punch-hole.
The whole package is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W SuperDart Charge fast charging. The phone has a USB Type-C port and an in-display fingerprint scanner. On the software side of things, it will run Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. The phone will be available in Infinite Blue, Infinite Black, and Illuminating Yellow color options.

The standard Realme 8 is very much similar to the Pro variant barring a few differences. It has the same display specs but is powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 processor with ARM Mali-G76 GPU. There are 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM options available with a single 128GB storage space.
The camera setup on the phone is led by a 64-megapixel sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. It further has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The phone has a 16-megapixel selfie shooter to help you take selfies and attend video calls.
The battery capacity is 5,000mAh which can be charged quickly using the 30W Dart Charge tech. It also has a USB Type-C port and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will boot Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 right away. There are two color options to choose from, Cyber Black and Cyber Silver.
