OnePlus has reportedly decided to cancel the release of Nord SE aka 'Special Edition'. The leak is coming from Max Jambor, a well-known tipster, who was also the first one to tip about the device's existence. He talked about OnePlus' plans to release a special edition Nord variant towards the end of the last year.
Jambor says that the newest information is based on the tips he has received from many of his sources. The reason behind the decision has not been revealed but the tipster assures that the phone is now unlikely to make a public appearance. It should be noted that the latest development does not mean we will never see the OnePlus release a phone with the moniker Nord SE.
This particular variant was tipped to be under development in collaboration with Joshua Vides, a famous designer. It was expected to offer a 90Hz AMOLED display panel and Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. The camera department was reported to have four cameras on the back panel but technical details were missing.
If we talk about what else is going on with the OnePlus smartphone scenario, it most recently unveiled the OnePlus 9 flagship series around the globe. It is right after this series' launch that Nord SE was supposed to launch but with that out of the way, we should be seeing the Nord 2 arrive in the near future. It is a phone that will be a direct successor to the original Nord.
