Twitter users can now add stickers, animated emojis to Fleets

01 April 2021 0

Twitter’s Fleets have gained a new capability so that you can express yourself better in a fun way. Twitter has announced that users can now add stickers, GIFs, and emojis to their Fleets. The change is coming to both Android and iOS Twitter apps.

One can tap the emoji icon provided in the bottom bar while you are making a new Fleet on Twitter. Just tap on it and you will see a collection of Twitter-made animated stickers and emojis. Twitter has even coined a funky name for its version of animated emoji – Twemoji. It shows the popular emojis like the flame, heart, laughing face, thinking face, and facepalm.

You can even search for stickers and emoji at the top of the screen and Twitter will pull up GIFs sourced from Tenor and Giphy.

The process is no different from what we already do on Snapchat or Instagram. It is pretty simple and you do not have to look around to accessorize or enhance your Fleet.

Twitter Fleets is quite in its early days and stickers/GIFs addition is the first thing that had happened to it since its inception. It was first tested in Brazil and made available to everyone in November. The “Fleets” concept has mixed reception so far. It is possible that with the addition of Twemojis and stickers, more and more users would start using the Fleets option on Twitter.
