HTC reportedly has some big plans to accomplish this year. As per a report from DigiTimes citing industry sources, HTC will launch new 5G smartphones as well as AR/VR products and related solutions this year. If we go by the sources, all this is planned to happen in the second quarter of 2021 to stimulate sales.
The rest of the report covers what HTC has been doing lately. The report points out HTC is not just focusing on its domestic market in Taiwan, it is also spreading its roots in Europe and the Middle East with the help of local telecom operators.
With the new AR/VR inventions, HTC aims to cater to needs for remote communications, an important aspect that is growing rapidly in today’s era because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Reportedly, HTC believes new AR/VR devices and solutions will help people in their work and study activities.
It is good to note HTC plans and its aims, even though they appear short-term for now. At least, HTC is still laying out its plans, considering the black clouds have been hovering over its smartphone segment for a very long time now.
Recently, LG made a complete exit from the growing smartphone competition after following a real struggle to sustain for some more time in the battle. This clearly makes us dubiety for other players like HTC and Sony for that matter that are currently tussling for their position just like LG struggled once. We do hope such an ill-fate is not written for them.
HTC had laid out its 5G plans a long time back, just like other players in the market. It even appointed a new CEO later last year who could steer it in the right direction. It is good to note HTC hasn’t backed down and is heading towards its goal even though it is getting no real results.
