We know that smartphones with under-display fingerprint scanners have become quite common. They have also started to become quite affordable as compared to the early days. The companies are now busy working on a new display tech i.e. under-display cameras so that they can offer a full-display experience without the need for punch-hole, notch, or even pop-up mechanism.
There are currently a handful of phones with an under-display selfie camera that are available commercially. This is now expected to change considerably this year as per the latest leak. Ice Universe aka @UniverseIce has tweeted that Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and ZTE are the OEMs committed to releasing under-display camera smartphones later this year.
Samsung will be debuting the new tech with a foldable smartphone, presumably the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Xiaomi's offering will be the Mi MIX 4 which will be launching in the coming months. Oppo will also have a foldable smartphone in the market to showcase its take on the tech. ZTE already has an under-display smartphone in the market i.e. ZTE Axon 20 5G. It will be revealing a phone with the improved version of the tech that it used last year.
The second half of the year is when the Under Display Camera officially debuts, including at least Samsung (folding), Xiaomi (MIX4), OPPO (folding), vivo and ZTE (greatly improved version)

All of these smartphones are tipped to debut during the second half of the year. An exact timeline for each of these phones has not been revealed yet but we should be hearing more in the coming months. We will keep you posted on all the developments as and when these will surface online.
