Amazon Fire TV Cube with hands-free Alexa launches in India

21 April 2021 0

After a long wait, Amazon has finally released the Fire TV Cube streaming device in India. It is the second-generation version of the product that debuted globally in late 2019. It comes with hands-free Alexa support which means you wil be able to interact with the device using voice commands.

The Fire TV Cube is a device capable of delivering benefits of both Fire TV and Echo lineups. It supports a maximum resolution of 4K Ultra HD (UHD) along with technologies like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It is actually the fastest and most powerful device in the whole Fire TV family. You will get access to all the apps that you expect to see on a Fire TV device.

If you are wondering what makes it different from the Fire TV Stick, it is support for Echo features. It means you will be able to interact with Alexa and get answers to your questions. The device has an in-built speaker for this purpose where Alexa might be answering questions like weather, traffic updates, turning off lights, adjusting volume, etc.

It will be running the latest Fire TV OS user interface with all the new features. The Fire TV Cube will come bundled with an Alexa Voice Remote, an Ethernet adapter, an IR extender cable, and a power adapter. Amazon India says while HDMI cable will be sold separately but users can choose to get an AmazonBasics HDMI cable for absolutely free by adding it to the cart. If a user does not do this, he will have to purchase it separately.
