Twitter is starting a new test that brings a redesigned business profile to help businesses and brands. It will help their potential customers know more about them. It is being referred to as "Professional Profiles" which will have a dedicated section to help users know where and how to get in touch with the business.
The announcement was made through Twitter Bussiness's official Twitter account. It showed a screenshot to offer a glimpse of what these redesigned accounts will look like. These accounts still look like non-business accounts but they now have a separate section called About. This section has information like business website, address, location on the map, and business hours.
This is exactly similar to Facebook Pages meant for businesses. These pages also show relevant business details like the ones mentioned above. Twitter says business profiles will be made available to accounts related to businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators.
Professional Profiles are a new tool that will allow businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators — anyone who uses Twitter for work — to display specific information about their business directly on their profile.— Twitter Business (@TwitterBusiness) April 21, 2021
Twitter says the test will begin with a small group of businesses in the United States. The test will be expanded to more accounts gradually and in the coming months. It goes without saying that the exact expansion of the test will depend on the user feedback. We will keep you posted on all the developments related to professional profiles.
