Samsung AR Canvas app lets you AR content to your surroundings

22 April 2021 0

Samsung has released a new application called AR Canvas to help users add AR elements to their surroundings. This app features the same tools and AR scene editor as Bixby Vision's AR feature which has now been discontinued. Since there are many users who love to play around with these tools, it has repackaged and launched them as a separate app.

The AR Canvas app is packed with various AR elements including 3D text, brushes, GIF stickers, and 2D picture scans. It even supports adding gallery pictures to the AR scene. You can start adding elements by simply launching the app, granting all necessary app permissions, and pointing the camera towards the desired space. There is a "+" icon that you can tap to browse different AR elements.

The best part of the app is that once you have started working on an AR scene, all the chosen elements will stay anchored to that place for the next 30 days. This will allow you to open the app and point your phone's camera at the same place to resume working on the scene instantly. You can change any aspect of the scene with ease.

The app is free to download and is available only for select Samsung Galaxy smartphones. These include Galaxy A-series, Galaxy S-series, Galaxy Note lineup, and foldable devices. It can be downloaded by visiting the Galaxy App Store on your particular device.
