Asus is set to debut its ZenFone 8 lineup of smartphones next week i.e. on May 12th. There are rumored to be at least two smartphones named ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip. These phones have been part of the rumor mill for quite some time and now, well-known tipster Ishan Agarwal has collaborated with online publication 91Mobiles for sharing more details.
The ZenFone 8 Flip is a smartphone that features a flipping camera mechanism. It basically has camera sensors on the back panel which flip 180-degree to work as selfie cameras as well. Asus had previously used it in smartphones like ZenFone 6 and ZenFone 7 series. It is continuing with the approach that we have not any other OEM show commitment to.
In terms of specifications, the ZenFone 8 Flip is tipped to sport a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There is no punch-hole or a notch because of the flipping cameras. It is said to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with a single configuration of 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
The camera module is said to feature a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 12-megapixel macro sensor. The whole package will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. It is expected to be on the heavier side with 230 grams weight. The smartphone will have two color options with both featuring a Blue-colored power button.
The ZenFone 8 is like your traditional smartphones with a punch-hole display. It is reported to have a 5.92-inch Full HD+ display with possibly a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The processor remains the same i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 but with the configuration of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The dual-camera setup on the back has a 64-megapixel sensor and a 12-megapixel macro sensor.
The battery capacity is said to be 4,000mAh with 30W fast charging support. There are also reports of a 3.5mm headphone jack and a lightweight offering at 170 grams.
