After a bunch of not-so-frequent leaks, the Sony Xperia Ace 2 has gone official. Sony has launched this phone in Japan at a budget price of around $200.
The Xperia Ace 2 continues to follow Sony’s design language for its mobile phones. Same long brick-shaped form factor, however, it is slightly curved from the corners. And like many other affordable Android phones, the Xperia Ace 2 also features a notch that looks like a teardrop. On the back, the phone carries dual cameras on the rear panel. The two cameras are housed inside a pill-shaped module that also carries an LED flash. The bottom edge of the display carries a significant strip of bezels as well.
The configuration of the back cameras includes a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing shooter is an 8MP sensor. The fingerprint scanner is mounted on the side which doubles up as a power button as well. Interestingly, the Xperia Ace 2 is IP68 rated which makes it water and dustproof. The phone also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Sony Xperia Ace 2 comes in three beautiful soft colors – black, blue, and white. It is priced at JPY 22,000 ($202) with the first sales scheduled to start from May 28.
