It was just last week when Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch Redmi Note 8 (2021) in the coming weeks. It has now started to tease some of the technical specifications that will be sported by the smartphone. It will be a mid-ranger just like you expect from a Redmi Note series device. It is being touted as "The Performance All-Star" suggesting that it would be marketed as a performance beast at its price point.
The Redmi Note 8 (2021) is officially confirmed to sport a 6.3-inch display with a dotted notch. This is the same as the original Redmi Note 8 launched two years ago. It is likely to be a Full HD panel but has not been confirmed yet. Under the hood, it will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor but no words on the amount of RAM and onboard storage.
The phone will have a quad rear camera setup headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor. One of the official renders shows that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) will have a vertically aligned camera module. The back panel appears to be clean with no fingerprint scanner suggesting that there could be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is further shown in Blue and White color options.
This is pretty much what is known about the upcoming smartphone. In the meantime, here is a quick overview of what Xiaomi offered with the Redmi Note 8 from 2019:
