Nubia Red Magic 6R with Snapdragon 888, quad-cameras unveiled

27 May 2021 0

Nubia has added a third member to the Red Magic 6 series called Red Magic 6R in China. It is also a gaming smartphone but not as "gaming" looking as the other phones i.e. Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro. The camera setup has also been changed where the newest model gets quad-cameras as compared to triple cameras on the previous two models.

The Red Magic 6R sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a punch-hole in the center and a pretty high screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor coupled with 8GB and 12GB of RAM. The onboard storage on the phone is 256GB UFS 3.1 which should be good enough for most.

The quad-camera phone features a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera on the phone is a 16-megapixel sensor housed inside the punch-hole for taking selfies and video calls.

The whole package is powered by a 4,200mAh with support for 55W fast charging. On the software front, it will ship with RedMagic OS 4.0 based on Android 11. The Red Magic 6R has been priced at CNY 2,999 (about $470) for the 8GB/256GB model and at CNY 3,999 (about $628) for the 12GB/256GB model.
