OnePlus 9R new OxygenOS update fixes battery drain issue

05 June 2021 0

OnePlus 9R has received a new OxygenOS update that fixes the abnormal drainage issue caused by the last update. The latest OxygenOS update also fixes some known issues to deliver a better experience. The changelog, however, doesn’t mention what are those known issues.

According to the changelog, OnePlus has reduced power consumption in specific scenarios. Note that the last update was OxygenOS and it is said to have introduced the battery drain issue to the OnePlus 9R, causing the phone to drain battery abnormally.

The OxygenOS is actually a hotfix build, which means it is smaller in size and the changelog also doesn’t offer any other details. The update only weighs 106MB and it doesn’t bundle any Android security patch.

OnePlus explains that this is an incremental update, which means it will reach a small percentage of users today and a broader rollout will happen in a few days after it receives some positive feedback on the update.

In case you want to check the update manually, then head over to Settings > System > System Updates> Download and install.

OnePlus 9R was launched in March 2021 and since its availability, OnePlus is taking good care of it by throwing new updates and security patches.
