Apple at its WWDC event unveiled new upgrades to its OS platforms. There is also a new upgrade for its iPadOS for iPad models. The all-new iPadOS 15 brings so many new features along with those capabilities that have been announced with the iOS 15.
The latest version of the iPadOS makes it easy to add widgets to any section of the home screen. Previously, they were stuck in a column on the left side of the home page. There are also new designs for the widgets, this helps them to span more space on the larger screen. Thus widgets are now larger and feel dynamic.
The App Library is also coming to the iPads via iPadOS 15. The App Library is a way to organize the apps. It was first introduced in iOS 14 back in 2020 and it is now coming to the iPadOS as well. With the help of this feature, you can sort out the apps according to categories.
The iPadOS 15 features a new multitasking menu as well, with the help of which switching between applications will be quick. Also, one can create a Split View with a few taps. For instance, when in the Split View, simply swipe down from either side of the screen to go to the home page and select a new app to open. One interesting feature is, the iPadOS 15 also makes it easier to opening two windows of the same app.
Also, new keyboard shortcuts for multitasking are in development, so you can swap between apps from an attached keyboard as well.
Notes app is getting a significant update as well. You can now @message someone so as to add them into your note and brainstorm. You can also use hashtags to organize your thoughts and see all activities on shared notes through a new activity viewer. Also, a new tool called the Quick Note allows you to swipe up from the corner of the screen and make a quick note using the Apple Pencil.
The Translate app has also been updated with Auto Translate for automatically translating spoken conversations.
iPadOS will be available this fall for iPad mini 4 and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, and all iPad Pro models.
