Last month, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the existence of the Nord N200 5G phone, and fast forward to today, he is giving away more details on the subject. In an exclusive email interview with PCMag, Lau has revealed the Nord N200 5G is going to be an affordable 5G device just like the Nord CE 5G phone which is set to launch on June 10 in India.
As per what is reported by the tech site dedicated to everything related to PCs, the Nord N200 5G is going to feature a 6.49-inch LCD display with 1080p resolution. The tech site also claims to have obtained an image directly from OnePlus. As evident from the image, the alleged Nord N200 5G has a hole punch on the top-left corner of the phone to house the camera. Ono the back, the phone is carrying three cameras. The blade-shaped module of the camera setup is not flushed inside the back panel and rather sticking above it.
The tech site hasn’t stated it but the phone is likely to retain the 90Hz refresh rate of the OnePlus Nord N100.
Last month while confirming the existence of the two phones – Nord CE 5G and the Nord N200 5G, OnePlus confirmed the launch date of the former but it didn’t reveal when the latter phone will arrive. Today as well, the company hasn’t revealed any details on the launch of the Nord N200 5G phone. However, OnePlus did reveal in the past that the Nord N200 5G phone will launch in the US and Canada.
Reportedly Lau also said, the “10” and “200” models remain in different lanes.
Meanwhile, a separate report from XDA Developers claims the OnePlus Nord N200 5G is likely to be a rebranded Oppo A93 5G that released in January this year. So, if this theory is correct, we might see the Nord N200 5G coming with the following specifications-
- 6.49-inch LCD 1080p display, 90Hz refresh rate
- Snapdragon 480 processor
- 48MP+2MP+2MP triple camera setup
- 8MP front-facing camera
- Android 11
- 5000mAh battery
For comparison, the Nord N100 was launched in a 4GB and 64GB storage variant. But, Nord N200 5G supposedly being the rebranded version of the Oppo A93, we might see it coming in the 8GB RAM variant.
There is no word on the launch event yet.
